You might think it seems pretty odd to share a scarf pattern in May. The weather is so warm and beautiful, everything is turning a fabulous shade of green and our winter clothes and accessories have already been pushed to the back of the closet to make way for our cute warm weather clothes.
And then here comes Malena with a scarf pattern. Whyyyyy?
Well, remember how I moved from my old clunky website platform at the end of 2022 to my gorgeous new website? Well….. I had to manually transfer each of my blog posts over and that process took a couple of months. While I was prepping my new site for launch, I was still making blog posts on my old site and then pasting them over. Apparently there was one blog post I forgot to copy, and it was the Moguls Scarf pattern.
So while technically this is not a “new” free pattern, it was actually only available for about a month before I migrated and lost the whole dang blog post. And I’ve been so annoyed with myself that I didn’t want to re-type the whole thing again.
But… my friend Helen from Sunflower Cottage Crochet is hosting an amazing blog hop this month and now was the perfect time to finally rewrite this post and share the Moguls Scarf with you for free once again!
What is this ‘amazing blog hop’, you ask? I’m glad you did! The event is called the Crochet to Donate Challenge, and each day in May there will be a quick pattern available for download. You can use up your yarn stash to make items to donate to those in need in your area!
I designed the Moguls Scarf using Lion Brand Ferris Wheel yarn in the Imaginary Garden colorway. I love crocheting with the Ferris Wheel line of yarns because the yarn is made specifically for crocheting and the colorways are all SO gorgeous! You can read more about why I love Ferris Wheel so much and find links to other patterns (many of which are also free) which were designed with Ferris Wheel in this blog post:
No, Lion Brand does not pay me to talk up their yarn. I wish they did, because I love it so much and I’m just giving them free advertising at this point, haha!
I had so much fun designing the Moguls Scarf. The texture of the stitches creates little bumps inside the triangles which reminded me of moguls on ski slopes! Once you get the stitch combination committed to your memory, this scarf works up super fast as well.

Hi Malena,
Thanks for the beautiful Moguls Scarf pattern. I am about to start it and noticed at the very end of the pattern it states: Row 7-132 repeat rows 3-6, then it jumps to Row 134 repeat Row 3, then final row is 135. It skips Row 133 and I’m not sure if it should have read Rows 7-133? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Judy,
Thank you for catching that typo! It should be row 133 🙂
Clicking on Download the free PDF pattern here took me to https://www.straighthooked.com/product/moguls-scarf-crochet-pattern/ and the ability to purchase the pattern for $3.99.
