The Dolphins and Diamonds Shawl uses the filet crochet technique as well as my signature Dolphin Stitch and works up quickly. This is a great pattern to work on when you have a few distractions but don't want to be bored from the monotony of the same stitch over and over again. My testers enjoyed working on their shawls and loved the results, which means you are going to love working on and wearing this design too!
I used just about 2 balls of Lion Brand Mandala in the Wizard colorway for my Tic Tac Toasty Shawl design sample. I have been holding on to that yarn for 2 or 3 years, because nothing I was designing was "right' for that colorway. I sure am glad that I waited so long to use it, because I am in love with the bright happy colors that match the changing colors outside!
The Windows and Walls Shawl was super fun to design, and I know you will have lots of fun making yours. The repeats are easy to remember, making this a great project to work on as you are being mindful, praying, or just watching your favorite movie.You will need worsted weight yarn in your favorite colorway and a 5.5mm crochet hook.
As soon as I opened my package of City Tweed DK yarn from KnitPicks, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. This soft yarn was begging to be made into an ultra-wide shawl, with just enough ventilation to allow me to breathe but not become too chilly. For this project, you can of course use any worsted weight yarn you choose, but I highly recommend that you try some ALC hand-dyed Superwash Merino Wool from Avery Lane Creations.
